The Manitoba Masters Ski Club Programs

Nestled away in Winnipeg is an innovative club that provides programs of ski education and fun aimed at the adult skier. What makes it unique in Canada is that while traditional Masters (18+) ski programs or clubs are organized around training for racing in age classes, this Manitoba program is based on a learner centred approach of ski instruction with an approach modified from coaching. This allows the club to help all levels in their members from the new skier to the ex-racer to reach their maximum potential while encouraging a lifelong commitment to the sport. IT'S FUN, IT'S FAST AND IT'S FRIENDLY.

The club has two program categories. The Basic Program includes full membership in the club and a core offering of instruction, both indoors and out, as well as entry into the 9 race Manitoba Masters Race Series. JOIN UP!

The second category of programming is called the Enhanced Performance Program or EPP for short. This is a menu of optional training and ski improvement sessions that include a 3 Day Ski Improvement Package at Holiday Mountain, a Speed Ski Training Day at Asessippi and a Masters All Mountain Camp in B.C in February

The EPP program is open to non-members as well. The focus of the club is to augment and challenge the skills of all skiers using all the modern training equipment available. Making our molehills into mountains is the method. This could be the ideal way for you to tune up before your annual trip to the mountains or challenge yourself in an entirely new environment. Or it's just a great way to ski more in Manitoba. So this year get out of the house and learn to Ski like a Master.

Events:

EPP Registration: The EPP 3 Pack at Holiday Mountain is in its third year and the positive feedback in the past on this optional club program has been tremendous. It started it as an experiment in 2007/8 as a way of encouraging more training time for members and it has been fully subscribed for the past two years. It’s a great way to get more out of your winter and all ability groups are welcome. We need to sign up our membership first before opening it to the general public so please reserve your space now. Space is limited so that class sizes remain constant.

Hotline Reminder: The Club Hotline is updated with weather report or cancellation news after 5:30 PM on Wednesday nights and by 7 AM for weekend events. Call 989-3848 before heading for the hill if you're not sure. See you at the slopes.

Asessippi Trip March 5,6,7 info
Just a reminder to all members that we need a cheque/commitment for the ski trip to Assessippi by this Wednesday February 10th.
