Our program is all about having fun, being challenged and discovering new capabilities inside yourself and maximizing your equipment’s potential. The Manitoba Master’s Ski Club has assembled the finest team of coaches in its history for this year. They include members of the club who have progressed because of their desire to improve not only their own skiing skills but to share their love of the sport. The C.S.C.F. and C.S.I.A certify all staff. For more information e-mail our Head Coach Glenn Allen
Glenn is the Head Coach for the Master's Ski Club of Manitoba. He accepted this role in 2003 and has been an active coach with Masters since 2000. Currently certified as a Level 3 CSIA instructor (of which he has been a member since 1974) and Level 2 CSCF coach he is also a Level 1 Course Conductor for the CSIA and Mentor-Leader for the CSCF. He became passionate about coaching in 1986 when he came on board with the Nancy Greene program of Summit Ski Club under Head Coach Brian Hatherly. In addition to his duties with Masters he is an Assistant MASS team coach with Summit and travels regularly with them to the mountains for their camps on advanced terrain. His philosophy is that you’re never too old to learn something new and that life is more fun when you try to stretch your limits. He has been involved in most facets of the ski industry since 1976 as a ski school director, technician, boot-fitter, salesperson and store manager and continues to work directly in the industry as a sales manager for Sport Chek Polo Park. What he likes most about coaching is not only the positive impact you can have on people’s performance on the snow but also on the quality of life that you get to share.

George (or as he is sometimes known as “The Doctor”) obtained his Level II CSCF in 2002 and is also a Level 2 CSIA. He did not ski as a child (he started in 1988) and is therefore still very aware of the anxieties and excitement involved in learning this very challenging sport as an adult. George strives to never lose sight of what we believe is the primary focus: skiing is about having FUN in the winter environment and ski racing is a tremendous way to enhance our experience of life through passion and challenge.

He brings a wealth of experience gained in the trenches of the Nancy Greene program and is looking forward to his second year coaching with us.

Glen (another former member) will be joining us for some sessions as well. He has his Level 2 CSCF and Level 1 CSIA and wishes that he could be with us more but the demands of his work don’t always allow him to pursue this pleasure.
